Une célébration humide mais amusant de foi
This year is the 301th year to our beloved patron Nuestra Senora se Penafrancia. Every year we bicolanos, celebrate this activity for thanks for her love and mercy to us. In connection to this celebration our school, Naga City Science High school participated in the trasclacion which was held last September 10, 2011. The procession started at the old Penafranicia Shrine at about 1:00 in the afternoon. Many schools and other religious groups joined the procession.

While the procession is still on-going the sky went dark, and it started to rain hard. We stilled remain calm and continued to pray to “Ina” despite the rain. We were accompanied by our loving teachers who helped us throughout the activity. The procession ended at the Metropolitan Cathedral where a mass will be held after “Ina” and “Divino Rostro” entered. . We were all wet at the time. After all the schools and religious reached the cathedral grounds, the statue of Ina and Divino Rostro were the ones which were brought to the streets and carried by many devotees until it reaches the cathedral.

As Ina passes by people were raising their white handkerchiefs and started shouting VIVA LA VIRGEN. As the Virgin of Penafrancia passed by us, I whispered my own prayer. The turnover of Ina to the military was held near the E-mall. Many devotees who were bare footed were very eager to touch the image of our patron. As “INA” and “Divino Rostro” reached the Cathedral Grounds the mass started.

The people were lesser this year than last year because last year was the 300th year of our faith and devotion to her. The mass lasted about one and a half hour. As the event finished the people including some teachers and students of Naga City Science High school eagerly cleaned the streets.

With this gathering I can say that we bicolanos are really united and loving not just to ourselves and family but also to our environment and to God.

El perdón es una opción

Forgiving others is a very subjective and complicated process. Everyone has their own set of morals and ethics, which means that everyone has a different view of what can be forgiven and what it means to forgive. I think that the hardest people to forgive are the ones who are the closest to you. If someone else wrongs you, it is easier to forgive, because you most probably don’t expect much from that person anyway. If someone who is close to you however, a friend or partner for example, then for them to do something which requires forgiveness means that they have betrayed your trust to some extent. I think that the level of trust breached determines how easy it is to then forgive someone. I think if someone made a genuine mistake and this hurt you, then there is nothing to forgive, but if someone intentionaly betrays your trust or does something even though they know it will hurt you, then this makes it much more difficult to forgive.

In my opinion, everything can be forgiven, but not forgotten. For one thing I we must learn from our mistakes, so to forget an instance would leave yourself vulnerable to being hurt in the same way again. Obviously it is easy to say everything can be forgiven, but you never know how you will react when youfind yourself in that very situaion, where you have to decide whether or not you can forgive someone. Even though I think everything can be forgiven, that doesn’t mean that the relationship between the forgiver and the forgivee will go back to the way it was. It is not always possible to trust someone to the same extent as before and even if it is, trust is something which has to be earned back.

Amistad: iniciar y mantener Amor

Before there is authentic love, there is deep and meaningful friendship. How well do we know this yet act as if we don't? We sometimes jump into relationships one after another and act as if friendship, one that takes time to establish and nurture, is overrated. Fact is, friendship is underrated.

Friendship is a great blessing in life. But perhaps we, adolescents who are about to discover feelings for the opposite sex, have not fully understood why friendship can and does very successfully start and sustain the romantic love we all look forward to later on in life.

What most people never take the time or effort to understand is the beauty of naturalness in friendship. Let's imagine ourselves with our circle of friends or with our best friend? Aren't we at total and complete ease? Aren't we just comfortable of ourselves in front of them? There are times may look our worst and our best, we expose our worst traits and display our best ones? We show and tell them our feelings, our past hurts, or our fears and even embarrassing moments. We really bare our souls to them. These things we tell because we trust them, because they have been honest with us through time. And if this is the quality of friendship we share, shouldn't we be able to share the same to a person we want to be with as a spouse? If we make the time to invest this much and open ourselves up this much to friends, shouldn't it hold the same for our life partner? Of course.

Friendship allows us to see pleasant and unpleasant things that will elate us and disappoint us, things that will make us laugh and cry, things that will make us proud and frustrated. We do not hold these back from our friends; they just have to know. We know our friend's joys, fears, weaknesses and strengths, good and bad habits, what makes them angry and what makes them laugh, what they believe in and stand for, where we could learn from them. We understand them in a way most people don't.

What family means? Family to me is having a caring mother, a loving father, and helpful sisters and brothers, along with aunties, uncles, cousins, grandparents. The family plays an important role in one’s life. Our family is more important than anything or anyone else because they are the only ones who will be there for us in good and in bad times. When faced with a situation that I have to choose between my family and my friends I will always chose my family first. Friends will come and friends will go but your family is always there for you.
The formation seminar for the Campus Ministry was scheduled last week, I was about to attend that seminar but suddenly my mom told me that I need to stay because she was ill and no one will help her take care of my baby sister, so I chose to stay for mom. Another instance happened when I was in elementary; my dad went home from abroad. That weekend, I was scheduled to join my friends in SM. But then I realized that my dad is here and I also need to be there for him because I only see him about 2 months a year. I just told my friends that I need to spend time with my dad who just came home. Those are just example in my life that I proved that blood is thicker than water.
As a simple teenager, this is my way of showing that I believe in this saying.

Mi mamá experiencia inolvidable

Saturday was no ordinary day for my mom. She was hit by a truck while crossing the pedestrian lane in front of Mother Seton Hospital on their way to Immaculate Conception Church for a 5:30pm mass. Ahead of her was my uncle carrying our baby, my mom suddenly fell and felt dizzy for quite a time. Thanks God she only sustained minor injuries, my uncle and our baby was also spared. She was brought to the ER of Mother Seton ,had a X-ray, and was given medication for her pain. I was still at home then with my friends doing computer work. It was good that I didn't leave yet because we were the one who took care of our baby while my mom was in the hospital with my uncle. It was quite a relief to see my mom at around 7:30 with a smile on her face after the incident. She was more worried about us taking care of the baby. I'm also thankful to my friends Ysa and Ace who helped me with my baby sister.

Todo Sobre Entreprenuership

I thought studying entrepreneurship was hard because we were not able to discuss it when we were in elementary. But discussing the lesson for about two weeks changed my mind and I learned a lot of things. I learned that there are three kinds of clusters: Achievement cluster, planning cluster, and power cluster. Under achievement cluster are opportunity-seeking, persistence, commitment to work contract, risk taking, and demand for quality and efficiency. Goal setting , information seeking and systematic planning monitoring are the ones under planning cluster. and lastly persuasion and networking and self-confidence are the ones under power cluster.

I thought high school was fun and easy, but I proved that wrong as I started high school. The first few days have been fun, but as the days pass by it became more serious. We need to study hard for us to stay longer in our school. Well we cannot do anything we really need to study hard but we still need to put God first in everything we do. STUDY HARD!
